Catch on to Fitness!

News Release | November 2, 2005
Update (Nov. 14): Participants can pre-register for this Saturday's clinic at Washington Park Community Center by sending an e-mail to catchthefever24@aol.com.

The Indiana Fever’s Tamika Catchings will conduct fitness clinics for youth, ages 9-14, Saturday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Nov. 19. Catchings’ annual “Catch on to Fitness” clinics take place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., each afternoon, with the cost of admission just 10 canned food items to benefit Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. Regular clinic admission is $20 per day. Registration is from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m.

An Olympic gold medalist and three-time WNBA All-Star, Catchings was third in voting for the WNBA’s Most Valuable Player award last summer. She operates her annual clinics as part of her Catch The Stars Foundation, Inc., to benefit underprivileged and disadvantaged youth.

Sponsored by Nike and the Indiana Fever, her fitness clinics are designed to demonstrate ways to become active and lead healthy lifestyles. The Nov. 12 clinic will be conducted at Riverside Family Center. The Nov. 19 clinic will take place at the Washington Park Community Center.
