CHICAGO (AP) -- Reserve Shay Murphy scored 15 points as the Indiana Fever extended their franchise- record winning streak to nine games, 83-54 over the Chicago Sky on Friday.

The Fever (9-2) never trailed as they blitzed the Sky 33-9 in the opening quarter on 72.2 percent (13 of 18) shooting before 4,021 fans at the UIC Pavilion.

The Sky (6-7) took their fourth straight loss and first at home. Chicago shot only 22.9 (8 of 35) in the opening half and its 54 points were a season low.

The torrid pace eased after Indiana used a 9-0 run to build a 42-11 lead early in the second period. The Fever shot 52 percent (9 of 17) in the period on the way to a 54-23 halftime lead as Murphy hit all five of her shots for 11 points.

Joining Murphy in double figures was reserve Jessica Davenport with 12. Starters Tammy Sutton-Brown and Katie Douglas each added 11. Shyra Ely paced Chicago with 12 points.

Sylvia Fowles, Chicago's top rebounder, sat out her fourth straight game with a sore right knee. She's expected to miss at least one more game.

The Fever also set team records for most points in an opening quarter and most first-half points and first-half point margin on the road. The 29-point win matched the Fever's second-largest road win of all-time.

Indiana lost its first two games of the WNBA season, then began its current streak with a 73-66 home victory over Seattle on June 9.
