QUOTABLE
Lin Dunn
General:
I am impressed with our energy and effort. The bench played well especially Allison Feaster. Tamika (Catchings) started looking like her old self. With Catch coming back this puts more pressure on the defense as far as who to guard. It was good to see us bounce back and really go at New York. Were trying to get more quality minutes out of the bench to give our starters more rest.

Tamika Catchings
On Her Condition:
Im definitely on my way. My teammates have been very supportive, which keeps me motivated. I saw the trainer after the game tonight and have no swelling, but tomorrow will be a true test to see what it looks like. Hopefully soon Ill be able to go as much as they need me.

INDIANAPOLIS(AP) Katie Douglas had 16 points and eight rebounds, and the Indiana Fever beat New York 83-69 on Wednesday night for their fourth straight win against the Liberty.

Tamika Catchings finished with 11 points, five rebounds and three steals, and Tan White scored 11 for the Fever (6-4), who won their 10th consecutive home game against New York.

Catchings came off the bench to play nearly 14 minutes in her second game of the season. She suffered a torn right Achilles' tendon in last year's Eastern Conference finals and underwent surgery in September. Her debut came in Sunday's loss to San Antonio.

Janel McCarville had 23 points and Shameka Christon scored 16 for the Liberty (5-5). New York had won four of five games entering Wednesday after a 1-3 start.

The Fever, who led 23-20 entering the second quarter, took control with a 13-4 run before halftime. Tammy Sutton-Brown's layup extended their advantage to 41-30.

Indiana opened a 55-37 edge following 3-pointers by Tully Bevilaqua and Douglas with 4 minutes left in the third quarter. Catchings' layup pushed the lead to 63-41 later in the period.

Tiffany Jackson's two free throws got the Liberty to 73-61 midway through the fourth quarter, but Douglas scored the next five points to help seal the victory.

  • With its 16-16 from the foul line tonight, the Fever is the fourth team in WNBA history to make at least 11 free throws without a miss in a single game. Indiana is the first team to do so since the San Antonio Silver Stars shot a league all-time high of 22-22 against the Fever, 6/1/04. The Fever's 16 straight without a miss ranks as the second most made in league history without a miss.
  • The Fever has now won four in a row and 16 of the last 20 games vs. the Liberty.
  • Indiana has won 10 straight regular season home games vs. New York. The Liberty's last win at Conseco Fieldhouse was July 19, 2002. Including two postseason matchups with the Liberty, the Fever has won 13 straight home games vs. New York.
  • In addition to a team-high 16 points, Katie Douglas also led the Fever with a season-high eight rebounds and she led the team with five assists.
  • The Fever had 10+ steals for the fourth time in the last five games, and the sixth time this season, with 11. Ebony Hoffman led the Fever with a career-high tying four steals.
