Lynx Use Strong Second Half To Power Past Fever

INDIANAPOLIS -- The absence of six veterans proved too much for the Indiana Fever, falling 78-64 to the Minnesota Lynx in their second preseason game, Wednesday evening at Conseco Fieldhouse. Navonda Moore scored 16 points to pace the Lynx who ran their preseason record to 2-0. The Fever's Tan White netted 16 for Indiana.
The Fever led 36-30 at halftime, but the Lynx shot 47.9% from the field in the third quarter and went on a 21-6 run to lead 53-44. Rookie free agent Constance Jinks ended the run with a turnaround jumper with 1:15 left in the quarter. In 25 minutes, she finished with 15 points.
Minnesota took control in the third period and stretched its lead to as many as 17 points in the final quarter, 74-57. The Fever committed 29 turnovers for the game, 12 in the third quarter alone.
Moore added three steals and a blocked shot, while Nicky Anosike scored an additional 10 points, six rebounds and five steals. Rookie Charde Houston also reached double figures for the Lynx, with 10.
For Indiana, veteran center Kasha Terry came off the bench to shoot 7-for-10 from the field and add 15 points, three rebounds and one steal. Jinks also scored 15 for the Fever, shooting 7-of-14 in her first preseason start.
