Fever Defeat Sky In Double Overtime

CHICAGO(AP) Anna DeForge had 16 points as the Indiana Fever beat the Chicago Sky 75-70 in double overtime Tuesday night.
Tamika Whitmore scored 15, Tully Bevilaqua had 13 and Tan White had 11 for Indiana (19-11), which has won three of four after losing its previous six.
Tammy Sutton-Brown added 10 points and four blocks for the Fever, who clinched a playoff spot with a 63-55 win over Sacramento on Sunday and hold a 2 1/2 game lead over Connecticut for second place in the Eastern Conference.
Chasity Melvin had a season-high 26 points and 10 rebounds, Dominique Canty added 11 points, and Stacey Dales and Armintie Price each added 10 for the Sky (12-18), who dropped their fourth straight to fall two games behind fourth place Washington for the final playoff spot in the East.
Chicago leading scorer Candice Dupree had a career-high 20 rebounds but tied a season-low with four points on 2-of-14 shooting.
The Fever took a 69-66 lead on a jumper from Whitmore and two free throws from Sutton-Brown. Dupree hit a layup to make it a one-point game, but three straight Indiana free throws gave the Fever a 72-68 lead with 31.2 seconds left i the second OT.
Melvin hit a jumper to draw the Sky within two but Indiana hit three free throws to close the game.
The Fever had two chances to win in the first overtime as Whitmore missed a short jumper with 25 seconds and White missed a layup at the buzzer. Dales threw an inbound pass to a cutting Canty, who made the layup while getting fouled. Her free throw tied the game at 64 with 34.9 seconds left.
After Melvin made a layup to begin overtime, Bevilaqua hit a 3-pointer and Sutton-Brown followed with a layup to give Indiana a 64-61 lead with 1:38 left. Whitmore missed a potential game-winning layup with a second left in regulation.
