INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever will conduct its annual Read to Achieve Tipoff Event on Tuesday, May 22, at IPS School Indianapolis Public School #42 (Elder W. Diggs School). The Fever will donate 200 books to the school and players will participate in a reading assembly with 200 children, ranging from kindergarten through third grade. Fever players will also read to individual classes.

FORUM Credit Union, the Fever’s Read to Achieve sponsor, provided a book that Fever players will read about managing money. Each child will also receive a paper bank, courtesy of FORUM Credit Union.

Besides the donated books, the Fever will donate a variety of other items that the school will use as incentives for reading as part of its Accelerated Reading Program. As part of the program, children read books and take online quizzes to accumulate “book dollars” which can be spent in the media center treasure room.

The Fever continues its season-opening homestand Thursday, when it hosts the Los Angeles Sparks at Conseco Fieldhouse (7:00 p.m.). Single-game tickets for all Fever home games may be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations or FeverBasketball.com.
