WNBA.com Celebrates Women's History Month:
Nykesha Sales on Halle Berry

WNBA.com asked Connecticut Sun forward and four-time WNBA All-Star Nykesha Sales to name the woman she most admires and with whom she would most want to spend a day.

Sales shares her thoughts on actress Halle Berry and on how she views herself and the WNBA in the context of women's history.

Winner of the 2002 Best Actress Oscar for her role in “Monster’s Ball,” Halle Berry first got notice on the big screen for her role in Spike Lee’s 1991 movie, “Jungle Fever.” Other film credits include “Boomerang,” “Bulworth,” “X-Men” and “Die Another Day.”

"That will always be Halle Berry. She’s my inspiration. I love her so very much, and she’s done so much for the community and for Black America. So I think if I get that chance, I’m going to spend all day with Halle Berry and we’re going to hang out."

How would you want to spend the day together?
"I don’t know. She likes to shop and I like to shop, so I think we’re going to both get out there and do a little shopping."

Do you think of yourself and the WNBA as a part of women's history?
"I think so. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I am a part of history. This league is just beginning, and I look at some of the NBA legends out here and see where they started and how far they’ve come. And they’re still here, so I just dream that one day I’ll be a WNBA legend and give back just as much as they do."
