When WNBA.com asked Sacramento Monarchs guard and four-time WNBA All-Star Ticha Penicheiro to name a woman -- past or current -- whom she admires, Penicheiro chose Lady Di.

Diana, princess of Wales, was dedicated to many charitable causes, including helping children with AIDS and the homeless and fighting for a ban on land mines. She was killed in a car accident in Paris in 1997.

"I think Lady Di. I think she did so much, and just her presence... And of course she’s not here anymore, but I think she was somebody that really did a lot for the world, just her causes and everything. But of course my mom is the one I look up to, that’s the one that brought me up and raised me and she’s still living, thank God, and that’s the one that I model myself to."

If you could talk to Lady Di, what would you want to ask her about?
"Things that you can do as far as foundations or how do you handle yourself if you want to make this world a better world or your city a better city or your country a better country, what things you can do to make it better.

"But I just loved her presence, the way she dressed, the way she carried herself – she was definitely a lady and that’s why I admired her so much."
