In addition to hosting the "Oprah Winfrey Show" since 1986, Winfrey also owns a production company, Harpo, and runs "O" magazine. She also appeared in films such as "The Color Purple" and "Beloved."
"I have to say Oprah. Just from the stuff she grew up with, dealing with family life, dealing with weight issues, dealing with “a woman can’t do this,” conquering the medium. I love the way she uses her fame and notoriety to help different causes. And it’s like once you’re endorsed by Oprah, you’re platinum – not golden, you’re platinum. And I just love the fact that she reaches out to so many people, and she takes all of the backlash that she gets in the media and she just keeps going. And that’s what I want to do, just be like, you know what, don’t sweat the small stuff, there’s so much bigger stuff out there.
"If we could spend a day together, I would just like to ask her not how can I get to where you are, but how can I as an athlete better myself. I would love for her to give me a couple of tricks of the trade, and I would just want her to be like herself. I’d like for us to work out because she likes to work out. I’d like to just sit around, do some of her favorite stuff. I’d like to just be in her world, not the glamorous Oprah, but just her world, just to see how she does things. I’d like to see the emails she has to answer. I’d like to sit down and see how she deals with her assistant. I’d like to see how she runs her Harpo staff. I’d like to see what it’s like before it’s time for the show to start. How do you unwind from the show? What do you and Stedman do? I would just like to see her as a person, and then that would give me a better understanding of how she just elevates when it’s time to put this hat on and be executive this or fly off to this awards show, to see how she handles things. I think with me, I’m one of those people, I learn a lot by watching, I’m a people watcher. "
