"Women’s history is tough because unfortunately there’s not a whole lot of women that you learn about in history. Even though there were women doing great things, there’s only a handful that you learn about.

"I guess she’s not somebody people would know, but I wish I’d gotten a chance to meet my great-grandmother because I’ve just heard incredible things about her. She had nine children, and she was just a strong role model. And the way she raised my grandmother and helped raise my mom, turn them into what I think are two of the most incredible women that I know, so she would be the person that I wish I had the chance to meet.

"I’ve heard about how she kept house for nine kids and was a very tough woman but at the same time a very kind and caring woman and that led to the way my grandmother is and the way my mom is and helping to raise me. I mean, my mom was taught by her mother that she could do anything and not to let the fact that she was a woman impede any of the dreams that she had and she passed that on to me and I think that all stems from my great-grandmother."
