Photographic Memory: Houston’s Sheryl Swoopes

WNBA.com's "Photographic Memory" asks players to look at a photo of themselves and talk about what it captures -- what was going through their mind at that moment of the game and what the photo reveals about their style. Here, Houston's Sheryl Swoopes talks about her offensive game and beating the double team.

What Do I See?
"I think I was really focused and just trying to attack, trying to draw a foul, trying to score, whether we were winning or losing. Maybe, possibly, try to get Jennifer [Gillom] or probably more so, try to draw a foul on Lisa [Leslie]. This is at home, and we were losing, so I feel like I had to really pick my game up and be more aggressive and try to get to the basket and score some points and get my team back in the game."

Facing the Double Team
"I think any time that I beat my person, whoever's guarding me, and somebody comes over to help, obviously I'm looking for the open player. If I've got two people on me, then obviously somebody's open. But I think most of the time, as soon as I touch the ball, I've got two people coming at me, so I know somebody's going to be open, so I'm always looking for my teammates. And if it's a point in the game where we're down and we need a basket, then more than likely, I'm going to be real aggressive and try to attack and if I don't score the bucket, then I'm going to try and draw the foul on somebody so I can get to the free throw line."

Favorite Spot on the Court
"The wing, on either side. But my favorite move is really to go left and pull up for a jump shot or to a fake coming off of a screen and go the other way and pull up for a jump shot. If I can't get all the way to the basket, then I'm going to just try to pull up for a jump shot."
