Photographic Memory: Detroit’s Deanna Nolan

WNBA.com's "Photographic Memory" asks players to look at a photo of themselves and talk about what it captures -- what was going through their mind at that moment of the game and what the photo reveals about their style. Here, Shock All-Star Deanna Nolan talks about coming into her own as an offensive player as she has become one of the most dangerous and unstoppable players in the WNBA...

Not only does Nolan have lightning-quick moves, but she can also dunk.

Q. What does through your head, what are you looking for as you're driving?
"What I'm looking for is the room I have to work with because evidently I'm driving baseline so I know help is going to come right there, so it's a matter of either me pulling up for a shot because of help or taking it all the way in."

Q. Some of the other players have said that they don't see the faces on the defenders, do you feel that way?
"I take whatever's given to me. If there's a hole, I take that hole, no matter whose it is. I don't look at who the defender is, I'm trying to score, no matter who it is."

Q. Do you have a favorite move on the court, a favorite spot to shoot from?
"No, I don't. Any close shot."

Q. The ones that go in?
Yeah, the ones that go in, or any close shot in that matter, but I don't have a favorite shot at all.

Q. And for you personally, do you have a different attitude or approach, are you trying to do things differently?
"Well, yes I do. Coming in to last season, I wanted to be more of a consistent player, be more of a scorer because that's what two-guards do. Be more of a scorer."

Q. How have you been able to do that?
"Prior to the year we won our championship, we had our chat, me and Bill had our talk. He was talking about what he expected out of me and that's what any coach expects out of any player. Because he knew we were going to be a good team, and it's a matter of not only me, but everybody else being consistent."
