Taurasi Soars in 2004

From WNBA Draft in April to the exciting The Game at Radio City in August to Seattle's dramatic run to the championship, 2004 was truly an amazing year in the WNBA. And there to capture every moment along the way were the WNBA's photographers.

After several rounds and thousands of votes, this aerial ahot of Phoenix Mercury guard and the 2004 WNBA Rookie of the Year Diana Taurasi was chosen as the best photograph of 2004 by the fans. Veteran NBA photographer Barry Gossage snapped it on September 17 at America West Arena in Phoenix when the Mercury hosted Alana Beard and the Washington Mystics.
