Hard to accomplish but easy to believe, the Detroit Shock continue on as the only undefeated team in the league. As a major contributor to the defending champs' success, Cheryl Ford has been named this week's Peak Performer.

Last Friday the Shock faced the New York Liberty. At the time, New York was the only other unbeaten team in the league. The Liberty's group of young, largely unsung players had been tearing up its opponents, but Detroit exploited their flaws, especially down low. Ford notched a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. She also added four steals and two blocks as the defending champs came away with a 67-57 victory.

Ford also impressed on Sunday, as Detroit won a nail-biter 79-74 over Connecticut. The former star at Louisiana Tech had another double-double with 20 points and a game high 13 rebounds. She played a pivotal role in Detroit's defensive strategies and nailed six of seven free throws.

On the year, Ford is averaging 14.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. She has posted a double-double in each of her past three games, and in each of her past four games she has finished with the game high in rebounding.

Many say that the Shock have been winning with their incredible depth on offense, but they pride themselves on their defense. As their top defender in the post and as a rock-solid presence on the offensive end, Cheryl Ford is deserving of the week's Peak Performer honor.
