Connecticut’s Nykesha Sales

Connecticut Sun star Nykesha Sales is one of the WNBA's most accomplished players. One of just two players to be named to every All-Star Game, the UConn alum has never averaged less than 13 points per game in a season and has led the Sun to two appearances in the WNBA Finals.

But Sales has made similarly impressive contributions off the court. And this week, she's in Las Vegas to participate in a Be Smart - Be Fit - Be Yourself fitness clinic as part of the NBA's All-Star event. Sales discussed her thoughts on travel with WNBA.com's Matt Wurst:

Q: What are some countries you've gotten to travel to for basketball or personal reasons?

Nykesha Sales lists L.A. and Phoenix as her favorite WNBA cities to visit.

"I've been to a few, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, France... just a few."

Q: What is one place you haven't been that you would like to see?
"I would like to visit some places in France, you know... just some vacation spots not really basketball related."

Q: What is your favorite place to go on vacation?
"I like to go to Puerto Rico. I make that an annual trip, now. I go after the season or before the season and just hang out."

Q: What are your favorite WNBA cities to visit?
"To visit, I like to go to L.A. and Phoenix. I like the feel of L.A., and I like the dry heat."

Q: What is the best WNBA city to go out shopping?
"I like shopping in Houston and New York the best."

Q: What are the best places to shop and dine out in your city?
"There's West Farms Mall in Hartford, but that's about it."
