What players are saying about their teams as the second half of the season gets underway
Second Half Outlook with the Washington Mystics

DELISHA MILTON-JONES:

What are your predictions for the second half of the season?
“I predict that we’re going to lose zero games (laughs) ... I hope.”

What does the team have to do down the stretch to make the playoffs and go even further?
“I feel we need to win a minimum of 10 games in the second half of the season to have a chance to make the playoffs. Connecticut is clicking right now, you can write Chicago off, so we’re all going to be battling for that fourth position, so we need to win as many games as we possibly can.”

ALANA BEARD:

What are your predictions for the second half of the season?
“The way I look at is that its two seasons built in one. As long of a season as we’ve had, with as much adversity as we’ve had, that’s how you have to look at it. You have to break it up. We went 7-11 in our first half and now we’re back at 0-0 and we have to start it out on a good note.”

What does the team have to do down the stretch to make the playoffs and go even further?
“We have to continue to be consistent. Consistency is the key for us. We’ve had games where we’ve been rather inconsistent and it’s showed and those are the games that we have lost. When I speak about consistency I’m talking about on the defensive end because I’m a firm believer in defense wins championships and we have to buckle down and get it done.”

NIKKI TEASLEY:

What are your predictions for the second half of the season for the Mystics?
“With the last couple games that we’ve played, I feel like we have a lot of momentum going into the second half of the season. I wish we didn’t have to stop for a break after winning those games before it. I think we’re going to come out and turn this thing around in the second half.”

What are your predictions for the second half of the season for yourself?
"If my team’s doing well, then I’ll be all right.”

What does the team have to do down the stretch to make the playoffs and go even further?
“Obviously, we have to win games to make the playoffs. We have to put two halves together. Sometimes we start slow and finish strong. And sometimes we start fast and we finish slow. So I think we have to put two halves together defensively and offensively.”
