One of only six remaining original WNBA players to have played all ten seasons, San Antonio Silver Stars guard Vickie Johnson is enjoying perhaps the best season of her career so far. Her addition to the young and emerging team has proven to be one of the best offseason signings prior to this season.

With a core that includes many first and second year players like Sophia Young, Kendra Wecker, Katie Feenstra and LaToya Thomas, Johnson is the most experienced player on the team and leads by example. While her impact on the game has always been far greater than her individual statistics, the Texas-resident is averaging career-highs in points, rebounds and assists with 14.7ppg, 4.8 rpg and 4.7 apg. She has career averages of 11.6 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game.

Johnson leads the Silver Stars in scoring and assists and is third in rebounding. Overall, she ranks #14 in the WNBA in points rer Game (14.7) and eighth in total points (88.0). She also ranks third in the league in assists per game (4.7) and #1 in total assists (28.0).

Johnson spent the first nine years of her career with the New York Liberty and played in four WNBA Finals. She has played in more WNBA postseason games than anyone else (36) and stands at or near the top of virtually every other all-time postseason record. That is just the kind of stability and experience the young Silver Stars need.

Speaking of stability, as another of the team's star guard, All-Star Marie Ferdinand, is out on maternity leave, Johnson has played more minutes than players more than ten years her junior. In fact, her 33.5 minutes per game and 201 total minutes rank second in the league.
