Leg press. It gives you strength for your legs, especially for running and jumping and defensively for sliding. We do some defensive slides and we have some balancing things that we're doing with our trainer right now. So the balancing and the leg press are the two things that are my favortie.
Favorite exercise for upper body?
Upper body, bench press and push-ups and sit-ups are my three favorites.
Do you have a favorite cardio exercise?
Pool workout. People don't realize how good that is for you, working out in the pool. I think if a lot of people did that, people would be in better shape. That actually gets you in shape because the resistance of the water and you also have weights now that you can use in the water.
Is there an exercise that you hate and have to force yourself to complete?
Treadmill. The treadmill and the track are the two hardest things for me, but I'm getting there. I'm learning and working hard and my workouts are getting better and it's becoming not so much of a problem for me because I'm not thinking about it. It's really all mental.
Is there a fitness accomplishment that you're most proud of?
Being able to run a mile in 6:30 now. And I know in college I struggled with that so being able to do it now is really a big accomplishment.
Is there a fitness product on t.v. that makes you laugh the most?
The Butt-Master. Any of those commercials are funny to me.
Is there a fitness or exercise goal that you've set for yourself that you're working towards now?
There's a certain weight I'm trying to get to, a certain body tone, definitely. Getting in tip-top shape is definitely a goal of mine.
How would you describe the role of fitness and exercise in your life?
It's a priority for anybody who plays sports. It's definitely a priority to be able to be in shape and to take care of your body, watch what you eat. Because your body's like a car -- it needs a gas, it needs food to run, it needs the right oils, it needs the right fluids, just like a vehicle. So it's important to take care of your body, especially when you're running so much and draining so much energy and losing so much fluids.
