I like squats, which help your total body. It helps you with changing directions and jumping. It makes you physically strong all over and gives you added strength on the court.
What is your favorite cardio exercise?
Running or jogging.
How do you work out on your off days during the season?
I don’t workout on my off days during the season. I rest.
What do you do to stay in shape during the offseason?
I run on the track, lift weights, play pick-up ball and do yoga and pilates. When I am in Kentucky, I run in the park where there are many trees and hills.
What is your toughest fitness challenge?
My weight. Since I have bad knees, it is really important for me to watch my weight.
Is there a fitness goal that you have set for yourself that you are working towards?
My goal is to lean up more, especially for next year. I will do this with yoga and pilates.
Is there a fitness accomplishment you are most proud of?
I ran 12 miles once.
Is there one exercise that you hate doing and have to force yourself to complete?
I cannot do pull-ups or dips.
What advice would you give to someone who wanted to get into better shape for playing basketball?
You need to do a lot of running and training. It is not just about playing a lot of games. You need to train as well.
How would you describe the role of fitness and exercise in your life?
Fitness is very important because I play basketball and I have to stay in shape.
What type of music do you listen to while you are working out?
I like slow songs, old-school slow jams. Fast music makes me nervous.
Is there a fitness product on TV that makes you laugh the most?
The ab stimulator.
Is there a certain food that you like to eat before games?
I eat pasta or Subway before a game.
What foods do you have a weakness for?
My weakness is candy.
What is your favorite healthy snack?
My favorite healthy snack is fruit.
When did you start working out and how has your fitness routine changed over the years?
I started working out or playing sports when I was in the fifth grade. My best fitness shape was in college. My fitness routine is to maintain and I cannot overdo it.
