Oh, The Places They Go

NEW YORK, Oct. 11 -- As the members of the "WNBA Select" team gathered and practiced in Tarrytown, N.Y., this week to prepare for the FIBA World Cup 2003 in Samara, Russia, WNBA.com caught up with the players to find out what exotic lands they have traveled to as basketball players and where they would most like to go next.

Where else have you traveled playing basketball?
"I've been to Russia before. I was in Moscow and Bejing with the US teams during college."

Which was your favorite?
"I liked them both. They were both different. I like things about both of them. In China, there's a lot of different history and we got to see a lot of different sites and learn about the history of the country -- the Great Wall, Tienanmen Square, the Ming Tombs and learn about their history because it goes back so long. In Russia, it was my first trip overseas and I think I had more interaction with the people when I was in Russia, just meeting the people and learning what their lifestyle is like."

Where would you like to travel to next?
"I'd like to visit a lot of places. I haven't been to Europe yet, so I'd like to go there. I'd like to hit most of the continents before I'm done ... Just to visit, not necesarily to play basketball."

Coretta Brown, Indiana Fever

"My favorite place would have to be Spain. I thought Spain was really nice and beautiful ... It kind of reminded me of being back in the States because of the weather, the people, the food."

"Definitely Africa. I would love to go there and just experience it and get to know a lot about it because I've heard a lot about it."
