When the "WNBA Select" team faces Brazil's Sao Paulo Futebal Clube on Tuesday, Oct. 15, Michelle Snow will go against her Comets teammates Janeth Arcain and Tiffani Johnson.
When the "WNBA Select" team faces UMMC Ekaterinbourg on Thursday, Oct. 16, Coretta Brown will go against her Fever teammate Natalie Williams, Nikki Teasley will go against her Sparks teammate DeLisha Milton, and Michelle Snow will go against her Comets teammate Sheryl Swoopes.
Sensing a pattern here? Absolutely.
Wherever the "WNBA Select" team turns during the FIBA World Cup 2003 in Samara, Russia, they will face WNBA stars and in-season teammates galore.
With up to 15 WNBA players scheduled to compete for other teams in the tournament, it's only logical that WNBA teammates will take the court on opposing teams. So, how do the players handle such a matchup -- and where do their true loyalties lie?
For Kara Lawson, the reaction to facing former teammates all depends on position.
"It's always different if I'm going against a former player who's a guard and I have to defend against her, but with post players you don't really cross paths that much," said Lawson.

Los Angeles' Nikki Teasley has a different plan when it comes to spilling the goods on her Sparks teammates Mwadi Mabika, DeLisha Milton and Tamecka Dixon.
"I'm going to tell them everything they're going to do," said Teasley before getting serious. "We're just going to go out and have fun and hopefully win."
The World Cup will also bring together former teammates in a different way. For Nikki Teasley and Coretta Brown, playing on the "WNBA Select" team will be a reunion of their days on the court together at the University of North Carolina.
"I can't wait," sad Brown. "It's going to be great. Any time you can hook back up with a former teammate, it's an awesome thing."
Teasley took it a step further, "We had some great times at Carolina and we're just getting ready to put on a show again."
