Detroit's Elaine Powell finished with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists and Shock guard Deanna Nolan chipped in four points and five assists in the victory.

Washington's Chamique Holdsclaw scored a game-high 20 points in leading Ros Casares Valencia to a 65-59 victory over US Sportive Valenciennes Olympic while helping Ros Casares to a 1-0 lead in the best of a three-game series. Former Utah (2002) guard Elisa Aguilar scored 11 points and Washington's Murriel Page chipped in two rebounds in the victory. Houston's Lucienne Berthieu finished with 17 points and eight rebounds and Charlotte's Allison Feaster scored 10 point in the losing effort. Former Washington (2001-02) guard Andrey Sauret tallied 10 points and 10 rebounds and Sacramento's Chantelle Anderson scored six points in the loss. Phoenix's Slobodanka Tuvic chipped in seven rebounds and Detroit's Isabel Sanchez scored five points in the loss.

New York's Elena Baranova scored 17 points and added 13 rebounds and Seattle's Kamila Vodichkova tallied 10 points and nine rebounds in Dynamo Moscow's 65-58 win over TS Wisla Can-Pack Krakow to take a 1-0 series lead. Seattle's Sue Bird chipped in three points and five rebounds and Los Angeles' Mwadi Mabikascored three points in the victory. Detroit's Iciss Tillis scored a game-high 18 points and San Antonio's Shannon Johnson finished with six points and six assists in the losing effort.

Connecticut's Katie Douglas finished with seven points and seven rebounds and former Indiana (2000-01) forward Jurgita Streimikyte tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds in Lietuvos Telekomas Vilnius' 80-70 victory over Dexia Namur to take a 1-0 lead in a best of three-game series. Sacramento's Rebekkah Brunson finished with seven points and six rebounds and Washington's Nakia Sanford chipped in seven points in the losing effort.

Former Utah (1999-2000) and Phoenix (2003) guard posted a double-double scoring 11 points and dishing out 11 assists as she helped lead MiZo-Pecsi VSK to a 81-55 victory over Kozachka-Zalk Zaporozhye and helped MiZo-Pecsi to 1-0 lead in the best of three-game series.

Connecticut's Taj McWilliams-Franklin led all scorers and rebounds as she finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds and Washington's Zuzana Zirkova scored 17 points in Gambrinus JME Brno's 89-54 victory over Lavezzini Basket Parma and to help Gambrinus to a 1-0 lead in a best of three-game series. Houston's Michelle Snow scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Comets guard Gordana Grubin chipped in nine points in the losing effort. New York's Ann Wauters finished with 14 points and seven rebounds and former Phoenix (1998-2001) center Maria Stepanova scored 11 points and ended with 10 rebounds in VBM-SGAU Samara's 96-40 victory over Delta ICP Kosice and to take a 1-0 series lead. Former Phoenix (2001) guard/forward Ilona Korstine scored 18 points and Minnesota's Svetlana Abrosimova chipped in two rebounds and three assists in the victory.

Former Los Angeles (1999) center Nina Bjedov scored 22 points as she helped lead the Bourges Basket to a 69-67 victory over Tarbes Gespe Bigorre and to a 1-0 series lead.
