Five months ago, Skylar Diggins was selected with the No. 3 pick in the highly anticipated 2013 WNBA Draft by the Tulsa Shock. In the chaotic time since, she's graduated from college, signed with a Jay Z's sport agency, Roc Nation, and completed her first WNBA season. As she'll admit, there were ups and downs -- more good than bad, however -- and after the Shock's last game on Sept. 14, Skylar took to Twitter to reflect on her journey and to thank her fans and support system.
These were her messages to her over 400,000 Twitter followers.
Our trials provide massive lessons for growth so don't pray for none. Some of these trials are really just big blessings in disguise!
Skylar didn't stop at Twitter to show her appreciation for her city and fans. On Sept. 18, she surprised the nearby McLain High School girls basketball team by delivering 14 new pairs of basketball shoes. Throughout the year, Skylar has repeatedly said that she thinks she has the best fans in the world, and this unsolicited visit was a clear token of her appreciation.
