Because the sport of basketball is really just a game of numbers, we will bring you WNBA "By The Numbers" every other week throughout the season. So without further ado, here are the stats you need to know.
1 - The expansion Atlanta Dream defeated the Sky on Saturday for their first-ever victory. The win also snapped their 17-game losing streak, which is the longest in WNBA history.
3 - The last three players are going to be named to the U.S. Olympic team on Thursday. Indiana's Tamika Catchings is one of the possible candidates.
6 - Led by Ivory Latta's 18 points, six Dream players scored in double figures as Atlanta notched its first win.
6.8 - Seattle's Sue Bird is leading the league with 6.8 assists per game but has only one double-double on the season.
10 - Seattle became the first team to win 10 games at home this season with a triumph over Minnesota on Saturday. The Storm stand at 10-1 at KeyArena.
12 - Candace Parker tied a career high with 12 field goals made in the Sparks' 91-80 win over the Mercury on Sunday. She finished with 31 points.
23.9 - Despite being held to a season-low eight points against the Sparks on Sunday, Phoenix's Diana Taurasi leads the league in scoring with 23.9 points per game. Her teammate, Cappie Pondexter, ranks second with an even 23 per game.
26 - Seattle set a franchise record with 26 assists in a 96-71 win over Minnesota on Saturday. The 25-point margin of victory was the Storm's largest of the season and the Lynx' first double-digit loss in 2008.
36 - Los Angeles' Lisa Leslie scored 25 points, matched a season high with 15 rebounds and dished out a season-high eight assists Sunday in a win over the Mercury on the eve of her 36th birthday.
65.2 - New York's Shameka Christon, who earned Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career, shot 65.2 percent (15-23) from beyond the three-point line over her previous three games to help the Liberty move into a tie with the Fever for third place in the Eastern Conference.
65.3 - Houston's Sancho Lyttle has made 32-of-49 field goal attempts (65.3 percent) in five games since becoming a starter on June 26.
67 - Seattle's Lauren Jackson set a season high for points in two straight games with 33 in a win over the Liberty on Thursday and 34 in a victory over the Lynx on Saturday.
3,000 - Leslie recorded 11 rebounds in a loss to the Mystics on July 26 to become the first player in WNBA history to reach 3,000 boards.
95,000 - WNBA.com set a single-day video record of nearly 95,000 streams on June 23, the day after Parker became the second player in WNBA to dunk during a regular season game.
