For those for whom voting just wasn't enough, we also invited fans to make their case for why the player they picked should indeed be the 2003 Most Valuable Player.
So, check out what other fans are saying, and remember, the Most Valuable Player voting is still open on WNBA.com.
Seattle Should Be Proud
"Lauren Jackson is my pick. She has accomplished so much this year. She has proven herself to be a rounded player that can play inside and outside the post on any given game night. With all the hype of MVP floating around her head (off the court and on the court) she continues to play every game with one goal in mind… to win. An unselfish player who puts the team before herself, her objectives and goals that she has set for herself. The city of Seattle should be very proud of Lauren Jackson, as I am sure her teammates and her coaches already are. Lauren Jackson is a rare talent."

Veteran Leadership
"Experience says it all. Swoopes has it all, the talent, the experience, and the veteran leadership to take her team all the way!! Again!! Plus she makes her supporting cast better."
- Nita (Lemoore, Calif.)
Out-Hustler
"I vote for Tamika Catchings because night in and night out she is out-hustling everyone. She gives it her all and she never gives up. She goes after every loose ball, she follows her shots, and she never gives less that 100%. She is a great all around player and there is really no one out there that can stop her when she is on her game. She is a positive role model and she doesn't let all of this attention get to her head."
- Farrah (Pomona, Calif.)
All About Heart
"I think the MVP should be the person who means the most to her team and the league. No one has shown that better than Lisa Leslie. After her injury, the Sparks were without their 'heart' and the other teams found it easier to win. I would win easier too if I didn't have to constantly worry about going against Lisa. There's no doubt in my mind that if she'd been healthy, the Sparks would be 26-3, and they would be on their way to winning the championship."

One of the Nicest People, One of the Best Players
"I would like to say that I think that Katie Smith should be the MVP. It seems that the LYNX have had a total turn around since last year. They went from being the 2nd to worst to being one of the best. I think that Katie Smith has something to do with that. She is one of the nicest people I know. After every game she comes out and signs autographs and even when she drives her car out and is in a hurry, she still stops when she sees the fans are waiting for her. She is also one of the best players that I have ever seen and she is very exciting to watch on the court. Every time that she comes on the court, people cheer and every time she gets taken off, there are people cheering for her, even people that are rooting for the other team. My dad and I are season ticket holders for the LYNX and we go all the way there from Nebraska to see Katie play. Katie is the best!!!!!!!"

Rock for the Storm
"I strongly believe that Lauren Jackson is having a MVP year. She has dominated so many games. She has stepped up when she has needed to and has been the rock for the Storm when they sustained a couple of injuries. Her game has grown so much in just the 3 years she's been in the league. Anne Donovan's done a great job of bringing out all of Lauren's talents. She's becoming an unstoppable force. LJ for MVP!!"
- Mike (Seattle, Wash.)
12 Double-Doubles in 21 Games
"I think Chamique should be considered MVP even though her team is at the bottom. She had little, if any help from her teammates on a consistent basis, she literally carried the team on her back and was the only player who was consistent game in and game out. She has 12 double-doubles, 1st in rebounding, and second in scoring, that is great! She comes to work hard every game no matter what their record was 1st or last, watching her play you would never know how bad her team was struggling."
- Littleo (Cleveland, Ohio)
Worst to First
"I think that Swin Cash should be the MVP. She has led her team from the worst to first. She plays hard every night and gives it her all every time she goes out on the court. In my eyes the Shock couldn't have done it without, though she didn't do it all on her own. That is why Swin Cash has my vote for MVP!!!!!!!"
- Court (Jonesboror, Ga.)
Awesome on Both Ends of the Court
"I voted for Tamika Catchings because she is a hustler. She goes non-stop in the games she plays. She can post up and take the trey. Tamika leads her team to victory. She is awesome on both ends of the court. PLUS, she is a motivator. This is why TAMIKA CATCHINGS has my vote for mvp."
- Steph (Virginia)
She Can Do Everything
"Lauren Jackson should definetly win the vote for MVP. She is a player that can do everything and has the numbers to proove it. She can shoot from the three, drive to the hole, and block anyone's shot. She always seems to step up when the game is on the line. Who else do u know that has scored 34 points against LA?"
- KT (Houston, Tex.)
Through The Years
"I believe MVP should be Tina Thompson because she has played well through Houston's great years and their not so great years. She led the team into the playoffs when Swoopes was out for the year, and Cooper had resigned. They may not have won, but she took them there. This season she has been outstanding almost every game. She has been a major player in the Comet's run back into first place in the Western Conference, and she has always played second or third fiddle to Swoopes and Cooper and it's time she received some recognition. She is a veteran team player as well."
- Carolee (Houston, Tex.)
