July 31 – A good, steady week for the Time Machine, as our picks never generated fewer than 25 points. We weren't able to catch lightning in a bottle with a 40+ effort, but it was enough to get us 210 on the week.

A special thanks to Justin Lyons, who filled in admirably last week. No disrespect to Mr. Lyons, but the results reinforce the notion that he and I aren't the ones helping you win every week. It's the numbers.

That's what we've come to expect from The Time Machine. We won't blow you away with the best numbers for the week, but consistently popping out the safe numbers. The end result is that despite not making picks for the first four weeks, The Time Machine is in the 90th percentile.

Let me rephrase that. I didn't make any picks for the first week, and then used my brain alone to make the picks for weeks two through four. I've already established that I knew nothing about the WNBA heading into this endeavor. The basis behind the article is that stats don't lie. If you listen to the projections of The Time Machine, you'll succeed. If you started on time and used our picks, you're sitting pretty.

We beat Matthew "The Fantasy Guru" again this past week. For the record, that's four wins, two losses, and one tie with The Guru since The Time Machine began Week 5. How does it feel, Mr. Guru?

Two weeks left. At the least, we'll tie his efforts. I fully expect the Guru to get sloppy and stumble across the finish line. He has a safe lead over me in our office league, so be weary of his final picks.
