Last Week's MVP: Candice Wiggins, Minnesota Lynx

Wiggins has been on fire over her past two games, averaging a league-high 25.5 points over the past five days. She set a new career-high with 27 points in a loss to Houston on Thursday before returning to score 24 points with five rebounds in Saturday's big road win in San Antonio. Wiggins did a lot of her damage from beyond the arc this week, knocking down six three-pointers on 11 attempts.

Rookie Watch

Candace Parker maintans her lead in the Rookie (and the WNBA) PRA (points+rebounds+assists) rankings with 32.0. She leads the next best rookie, Candice Wiggins, by nearly ten points as Wiggins has a PRA of 23.9. .

This Week's Picks

Tuesday: Shannon Johnson, Houston vs. Phoenix

Shannon Johnson has been struggling with her shot as of late, but a game against the run-and-gun Phoenix Mercury could be the remedy. Johnson tied a career-high with 13 assists in her last meeting with the Mercury, and she is averaging 7.3 assists during July.

Wednesday: Cathrine Kraayeveld, New York vs. Washington

Cathrine Kraayeveld is averaging 9.8 points and 5.7 assists while starting all 22 games for the Libery this season. She posted her season high of 17 points back on May 22 against the Mystics and will try to equal or better that effort on Wednesday.

Thursday: Kara Lawson, Sacramento vs. Phoenix

Kara Lawson will be heading to Beijing to represent the USA, but first she will try to get some more wins with the Monarchs before the break. Lawson is currently tied with her career high of 11.0 points per game this season, and she scored 15 in her last matchup with the Mercury. She is averaging 13.0 points over her last four games.

Friday: Tangela Smith, Phoenix vs. Seattle

Tangela Smith is having another solid WNBA season for the Mercury, averaging 11.5 points and 7.6 rebounds in her 11th season. Smith was held to a season-low two points on 0-7 shooting in her first meeting with Seattle this season, but should find the going easier with Lauren Jackson out of the lineup.

Saturday: Crystal Kelly, Sacramento vs. Indiana

Crystal Kelly has been one of the more underrated rookies in the league this season, averaging 7.1 points and 3.0 rebounds as a key reserve for the Monarchs. She is averaging 12.3 points over her past three games and will look to continue her recent hot streak on Saturday against the Fever.

Sunday: Shannon Bobbitt, Los Angeles vs. Minnesota

Shannon Bobbitt has been receiving major minutes at guard for the Sparks, so you can try to take advantage of her double point rookie status. She has been struggling with her shooting but she gets enought time and can also put up some assists with the talent around her, so let's see what happens on Sunday for the last selection before the long break.
