Overseas Update - Feb. 4

All six Dream players that were in action last week picked up at least one victory overseas, with Angel McCoughtry's team winning in both the Turkish League and in a EuroLeague contest. Updates on all of the Dream's overseas players follows below:

Alex Bentley– Sport Recife (Brazil): Bentley scored five points with two rebounds and an assist as Sport Recife improved to 7-1 with a 73-70 victory over Americana on Feb. 1. Bentley has played in the last four games for Sport Recife, averaging 9.5 points per contest.

Erika de Souza – Sport Recife (Brazil): During a 73-70 victory over Americana on Feb. 1 that improved her team’s record to 7-1, de Souza scored 18 points and grabbed nine boards, sinking 7-of-13 shots from the field. In six games this season for Sport Recife, de Souza is averaging 8.3 points and 7.3 rebounds.

Tiffany Hayes – Sport Recife (Brazil): Hayes chipped in seven points, three rebounds and an assist as Sport Recife improved to 7-1 with a 73-70 victory over Americana on Feb. 1. Hayes is now averaging 13.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists while playing in all eight of the team’s games this season.

Aneika Henry – Homend Antakya Belediyesi (Turkey): Antakya won its lone game of the week, defeating Ceyhan Bld by a score of 64-59 on Feb. 1 to improve to 8-10 in the Turkish League. Henry had 14 points and a game-high 15 rebounds while adding three steals in the victory. She is now averaging 13.1 points and 9.4 rebounds – which ranks fifth in the league – in 17 Turkish League games for Antakya. Antakya had also previously finished the EuroCup regular season with a 2-4 mark for third place in Group A, with Henry averaging 12.5 points and 12.5 rebounds.

Sancho Lyttle – Galatasaray (Turkey): Galatasaray lost in the EuroLeague before bouncing back to win in the Turkish League last week. On Jan. 29, Lyttle’s team lost a 73-59 decision to Spartak MR Vidnoje to slip to 6-3 in Group C, making them one of three teams in the group with six wins. Lyttle had 15 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in the contest, and is now averaging 14.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in four EuroLeague games. On Feb. 1, Galatasaray rebounded with an easy 83-52 win over TED Ankara to improve to 17-1 in the Turkish League, as Lyttle had 10 points and five boards in just 15 minutes off the bench. In eight Turkish League games this season, Lyttle has averaged 11.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 20.9 minutes per game.

Angel McCoughtry – Fenerbahce (Turkey): Fenerbahce won in both the EuroLeague and Turkish League last week. On Jan. 29 in the EuroLeague, McCoughtry had just five points and three rebounds but also a whopping eight steals as Fenerbahce improved to 8-0 in Group B with a 67-59 win over Wisla Can-Pack. She is now averaging 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.9 steals in EuroLeague competition. On Feb. 1, Fenerbahce improved to 16-2 in the Turkish League with a 74-68 win over Besiktas, with McCoughtry totaling 13 points and five assists. In 14 Turkish League games, she is averaging 15.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.9 assists. She leads both the Turkish League and EuroLeague in steals per game.

Le'Coe Willingham – Conquero (Spain): Willingham is no longer a part of the Spanish League team. She played in just three games for the squad which is 6-9 and in ninth place in the league, averaging 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds.
