Dream Clinches No. 1 Seed in East for First Time in Team History
Atlanta improved its record to 18-14 with the win against Phoenix, which entered the contest with a WNBA-best record of 27-4 and has clinched home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. The Dream is now 12-4 in home games this season, one win shy of the franchise record for home victories in a season.

The 2014 WNBA playoffs presented by Boost Mobile tip off Thursday, Aug. 21. The Conference Semifinals and the Conference Finals are each best-of-three series. Series are played in a 1-1-1 format, with the team with home-court advantage (better record) hosting games 1 and 3, and their opponents hosting Game 2.
The WNBA Finals is a best-of-five series played in a 2-2-1 format, with the team with home-court advantage hosting Games 1, 2 and 5, while its opponent hosts Games 3 and 4.
