DREAM PARTNERS WITH THE AVON BREAST HEALTH CENTER AT GRADY FOR ANNUAL “PINK” GAME

ATLANTA, August 2, 2010 - The Atlanta Dream has partnered with the Avon Breast Health Center at Grady for the team’s annual “Dream Pink” game on Tuesday, August 3 to help raise funds for breast health awareness. The Dream will host the Washington Mystics at 7:30 pm at Philips Arena in a nationally televised contest on ESPN2.

The first 3,000 fans will receive a “Dream Pink” t-shirt courtesy of the Avon Breast Health Center at Grady. Fans are encouraged to stop by the “Dream Pink” silent auction table on the concourse prior to the game to bid on exclusive items, such as authentic game-worn pink jerseys, autographed pink basketball shoes, team-signed memorabilia, and more. Other available items include autographed items from the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Thrashers; jerseys from top WNBA players; season tickets to the University of Tennessee women’s basketball, and more. All proceeds benefit the Avon Breast Health Center at Grady.

Breast cancer survivors will be honored throughout the game. Survivors will participate in the pre-game ball exchange and fan tunnel, and will form a pink ribbon on-court during halftime. The Pink Ladies, breast cancer survivors who volunteer at the Avon Breast Health Center, will be recognized as the team’s “Inspiring Women” honorees.

The Atlanta Dream enters its third season in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), the world’s longest-running women’s professional sports league featuring 12 teams. The Dream kicked off the 2010 season in May, with regular season games running through August 22 at Philips Arena.
