Anderson, a 6-6 center, missed the 2008 WNBA season after suffering an ACL injury last offseason. She decided to stay in Atlanta this winter to continue her rehab and serve as an ambassador for the Dream in the community.

The WNBA and the Atlanta Dream have supported Atlanta Girls’ School through their involvement with the 2008 Celebration of Girls’ Education event, the annual fundraising event for financial aid.

“We are thrilled that a professional basketball player like Ms. Anderson has volunteered her valuable time to share her basketball skills with us and offer encouragement to our young women in the athletic arena,” said Lorri Palko, Atlanta Girls’ School Varsity Basketball Coach. “It’s important to expose our young women to strong role models in the community – whether it be in athletics or other areas of life – and we appreciate Ms. Anderson and the Atlanta Dream basketball team for making that happen today.”

The Atlanta Girls’ School is a nondiscriminatory, nonsectarian college preparatory school for girls grades 6 through 12.
