I just wanted to update everyone on what I have been doing and where I have been over the last month. I have been working hard putting a staff together on the basketball side of our organization, evaluating college talent, and attending community functions.

Evaluating college seniors throughout the USA has kept me extremely busy. I have had the opportunity to see some very exciting games and a world of talent as this will prove to be one of the deepest drafts for college seniors. My travels have taken me to watch Tennessee, UCONN, Rutgers, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, Auburn, LSU, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Old Dominion, Middle Tennessee State, West Virginia, Texas A&M, and Texas. I have also had assistant coach Fred Williams evaluating talent on the West Coast. He has had the opportunity to watch Stanford, DePaul, UCLA, USC, San Diego State, and Texas. All of these teams have potential players for the 2008 WNBA draft. We want to be prepared to select the best possible players for our team.

In addition, I have been out in the community at various functions to let everyone know that WNBA Atlanta is a very special organization. My schedule is very busy and I like it that way. My goal is to meet as many people as I can in order to promote our team and organization. I will be happy when we are in a position to talk about players we have on our team and to have them out in the community so everyone can see these professional young women. They love being part of the community and to participate in community functions is something they love to do. They love working with kids and getting them involved with our team and will in turn be great role models for our girls and boys.

Speaking of players, hopefully, within the next couple of weeks, the WNBA will have a date for the expansion draft. This means we will be allowed to select one unprotected player from each team. I will update you later on the players we will select.

Until next time, I look forward to seeing all of you at a community event or at one of the college games in the area!
