About Karen: Karen is the choreographer and dance coach for the Dream Supremes. She started dancing at age six with the Ruth Mitchell Dance School in Atlanta. It did not take her very long to realize that dancing was going to be her life and that is still true today. Karen remained a Company member until graduation from high school. She then earned her B.S. in Dance at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.

After performing in New York for four years, Karen moved back to Atlanta to teach dance and choreograph many productions. She stopped dancing for a while(but never stopped stretching) so she could marry her wonderful husband, Ricky, who is an anesthesiologist. Together they have three beautiful children, Michelle, Brian, and Elena.

Last year Karen choreographed a musical for the Ahavath Achim Synagogue when Marcia Jaffe was one of the dancers. Marcia later called Karen asking if she would choreograph one piece for the Dream Supremes. Even though only 32 counts(out of hundreds) were learned that first class, everyone had so much fun and team spirit that Karen was hooked. With all their hard work, the "Seniors" have now mastered dances to "Poker Face" by Lady GAGA, "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson, "I Feel Good" by James Brown, and Arthur Conley's "Sweet Soul Music." The team is in the process of learning a routine to Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock" to start off the new season.

Karen has worked with pre-schoolers, teenagers, adults, and, now, "Seniors." Karen loves working with the Dream Supremes so much because she started with twelve nonprofessional dancers and has now taught them how to find their inner soul and express it through music and dance, thus turning the Dream Supremes into amazing dancers!
