Dream Center Expected To Miss At Least Four Weeks

Desouza Injured in Loss to Mystics

ATLANTA, May 30, 2008 -- The Atlanta Dream announced today that forward/center Erika Desouza will be out indefinitely after suffering a lower leg fracture during the team’s game against the Washington Mystics on May 27, 2008. The injury will not require surgery, but Desouza is expected to miss at least four weeks.

At the time of her injury, Desouza was among the league leaders in rebounds, averaging nine boards per game. Desouza recorded a league-high 18 rebounds in her debut with the Dream on May 23, 2008, shattering her career-high of nine rebounds. Against the Mystics, Desouza earned her first start of the season, recording 12 points and three rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
