Operation Basketball: Atlanta Dream & WXIA Team of the Week

The Dream has partnered with WXIA to honor local girls basketball teams. The Team of the Week program is part of WXIA's "Operation Basketball," which honors boys and girls basketball teams throughout the metro Atlanta area. The show airs each Friday night during the 6 pm and 11 p.m. newscast on WXIA.

February 26, 2010-- Mill Creek High School in Gwinnett County is the Dream's final Team of the Week recipient. The Lady Hawks, the 7-AAAAA are 24-4 this season under Head Coach Ashley Phillips. Mill Creek's state championship run begins this Saturday against Alpharetta. Dream Head Coach Marynell Meadors presented the team with the game ball at practice this week.



February 12, 2010--The Dream honored Benjamin E. Mays as the third Team of the Week. The Lady Raiders are 17-4 overall and 12-0 in the region this season under Coach Natasha Harrigan. Mays is led by center Larrisa Carter and guards Kendra Long and Davina High. Long, a 5-9 senior, signed with Georgia Tech earlier this year. Atlanta Dream Head Coach Marynell Meadors presented the team with the honor at practice this week.



January 29, 2010-- North Cobb High School is the Dream's second Team of the Week recipient! The Lady Warriors are 17-3 this season, with big wins over Marietta High School and McEachern High School. North Cobb is coached by Matt Philips. Dream Head Coach Marynell Meadors presented the team with the game ball at practice this week.

January 15, 2010-- The Redan Lady Raiders of DeKalb County are the first Team of the Week recipient! Under the guidance of Redan's Coach Jerry Jackson, the defending 5A state champions are off to a perfect 12-0 start this season. Redan is led by seniors Alisha Andrews and Nia Evans. Dream forward Jennifer Lacy visited the team at practice to present their award!
