Anderson Visits St. Martin’s Episcopal School in Honor of Women’s History Month

ATLANTA, March 5, 2009-- In honor of Women’s History Month, Dream center Chantelle Anderson visited St. Martin’s Episcopal School on March 3. Approximately 100 students in the second and fourth grade classes enjoyed the opportunity to listen to Anderson discuss her experiences and answer numerous questions. Each student also walked away with an Atlanta Dream poster and bookmark.

The appearance began with a two minute highlight video of the Atlanta Dream’s 2008 season. After the video, Anderson spoke to students about the important strides made by women in sports since the formation of the WNBA in 1997.

Anderson spoke about how she personally was inspired by WNBA legends such as Lisa Leslie and Ruthie Bolton while she was growing up. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Anderson also emphasized the importance of getting a good education and pursuing other opportunities. Anderson opened up the students eyes, showing them how many opportunities women now have and how they continue to make strides.

The Dream will tip off its second season on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 7 p.m. against the Indiana Fever. For more information and to purchase season tickets, fans can call 404.604.2626 or visit www.AtlantaDream.net.
