ATLANTA DREAM VS. DETROIT SHOCK

The Atlanta Dream visit Detroit for their third matchup of the year against the Detroit Shock. Detroit is 2-0 against the Dream this season, most recently claiming a 97-76 win in their most recent meeting on June 22, 2008 in Atlanta. The Shock were also victorious in the first matchup between the two teams, defeating the Dream 88-76 on May 23, 2008 in Atlanta.

The Dream are coming off an overtime loss to the Connecticut Sun on Friday, June 27 in the teamís first overtime game in franchise history. Betty Lennox led the Dream with a career-high 44 points while adding nine points and seven assists, but it wasnít enough for Atlantaís first victory.

The Shock also were in action against Connecticut this week, earning a 70-61 victory over the Sun at home on Thursday, June 26 in a battle for Eastern Conference supremacy. Detroit had five players score in double figures in that game, led by Deanna Nolanís13 points.

In the most recent action between the Dream and Shock (June 22, 2008), Detroit won 97-76. Cheryl Ford led Detroit with a double-double (20 points and 12 rebounds) and three other Shock players scored in double figures. Ivory Latta had a career night against her former team, recording the first double-double of her career with 26 points and 10 assists.

Latta and center Katie Feenstra were both members of the Detroit Shock last season before being acquired by the Dream in the 2008 WNBA expansion draft.
