The daughter of former NBA All-Star Xavier McDaniel burst on the scene in 2013 earning Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year and First Team All-ACC honors as a freshman. Subsequently battled injuries over her final two seasons. As a junior in 2014-15, started first 12 games and was avg’g 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds per game before missing the final 24 contests with a torn Achilles tendon. Returned to overcome a torn calf muscle in the 2015-16 preseason and played in 16 games before tearing the ACL and meniscus in her right knee at Georgia Tech. 2013-14: Finished third on the team in scoring (11.3) and second in rebounding, steals and blocks. 2012-13: Became first Tar Heel to win ACC Rookie of Year since Camille Little in 2004. PREP: 2011 South Carolina Gatorade Player of Year; a three-time 4A All-State pick in hoops, she also broke state record in the shot put as a track and field athlete.
