Despite the injury struggles of Tamika Catchings over the past couple seasons the Fever have remained among the East's elite. Last year, thanks in large part to the contributions of 2008's Most Improved Player Ebony Hoffman, the Fever reached the postseason for the fourth straight season. But it remains to be seen just how long the current core players can keep the Fever at the level at which they can compete for a championship. Indiana's window is still open, but as other teams lower in the conference standings stock up on talent it's pivotal that it seizes the moment while its veteran players, who now include Yolanda Griffith, can still produce at a high rate. Adding new blood that could crack the rotation, especially at the point guard spot, could go a long way in helping the Fever exceed their results of the past couple seasons.
