Analysis
The Sun did a better-than-expected job of making up for some key losses in '08 thanks in large part to the MVP-caliber play of Lindsay Whalen, who led Connecticut to the second-best record in the East. But in the playoffs the team's lack of depth and firepower showed in a deflating opening-round series loss to the New York Liberty. Connecticut hasn't done much in free agency to combat those deficiencies, although on the plus side the team hasn't lost much from its '08 arsenal either. Still, it appears to be important that the Sun nail their picks in the '09 Draft, as the rest of the Eastern Conference is starting to catch up. Grabbing the best available talent on the board seems to be the way the Sun should go in order to upgrade.
