Analysis
The Sky failed to have that breakout season in 2008 some predicted they might have after drafting Sylvia Fowles with the No. 2 overall pick. Instead, under first-year coach Steven Key the Sky once again flirted with a postseason berth before coming up short. The main reason was a knee injury to Fowles that forced her to miss half the team's games. Even with a healthy Fowles, whose strength is the defensive presence she provides in the middle, the Sky still need to up their scoring output in 2009. Last year, Chicago was second-to-last in the league in points per game, behind only Washington. Candice Dupree and Jia Perkins have been carrying much of the load on the offensive end for a few years now, so another option would be nice. Holding the No. 3 pick in the draft, the Sky have a good shot at finding that player who can fill it up and compliment the other stars on the team.
