Arizona State G Briann January
Arizona State University
Arizona State's Briann January is part of a trio of point guards projected by many to be taken in the first round of Thursday's draft. January brings versatility to the table as she has played both the point and shooting guard spots during her career with the Sun Devils.
What separates January from the rest is her defense; she is a tenacious on-the-ball defender that has claimed Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year honors in each of the past two seasons.
Since Arizona State was knocked out of the NCAA Touranament in the Elite Eight by Connecticut, January participated in the 3-point shooting contest at the men's Final Four in Detroit (did we mention that she shot 45 percent from behind the arc this season) before heading to New York for the WNBA Draft.
