Q. What qualities or skills or strengths will you bring or add to a WNBA
team?
Dickson: "I would say that I am an athletic, versatile scorer. Just
an all-around good player. I also think that I'm a good teammate and like to
get my teammates the ball."
Q. Are there skills that you feel you still need to improve or work on
at the next level?
Dickson: "I would like to brush on my ball-handling, getting to
the basket better, taking contact and finishing."
Q. As you embark on this next phase of your life, what do you expect
to be some of the biggest adjustments you'll have to make as a WNBA player?
Dickson: "I think getting used to the travel will be the hardest.
That and getting acquainted with teammates. It has been awhile since I've been
new to a team. So it will be a challenge getting used to different personalities."
Q. Did you have a favorite WNBA team growing up?
Dickson: "I grew up in Ocala, Florida, but there was no local team
nearby. I will say that I like to watch the Detroit Shock. They are really good
and Deanna Nolan is really good. But not just the Shock, I like to watch all
of the teams."
Q. Any other WNBA players you look up to?
Dickson: "Aside from Deanna, I grew up watching Sheryl Swoopes."
Q. Who are some of your all-time dream teammates that you'd want to play
with?
Dickson: "I would say everyone, I guess. All of them. I don't know
where I'm going, obviously, so that way I don't offend anyone."
Q. What do you do when someone you are guarding is lighting you up?
Dickson: "I'm like, can someone call 911? No, just joking. I take
it upon myself to stop this person. Coach is usually getting on me too. But
it's basically about digging deep to not let this person score anymore."
Q. You helped bring a lot of exposure to a developing program at South
Florida. What will you remember most about your college experience?
Dickson: "The friends that I made throughout my four years. Being
close to the coaches. I had a great time. I really enjoyed it and I think I
am really going to miss it. Playing pranks on each other, that was fun."
Q. What are you thinking and feeling as the Draft approaches?
Dickson: "I have mixed emotions. I am nervous, excited, everything.
I am looking forward to coming back to Cleveland for the Draft itself."
Q. Seeing as how you've come so far as a player, what is the best piece
of advice you have ever received?
Dickson: "Just work hard everyday. Nothing in life will be given
to you. You have to work for everything you want to do in life. If you have
a dream, go after it."
Q. What is your best on-court moment?
Dickson: "Up at the St. Joe's tournament this year, my coach drew
up a play for me to come on a hand-off and shoot a 3. It sent the game against
St. Joe's to overtime."
Q. Do you have any pre-game rituals?
Dickson: "I pray before every game. At home games, my mom and I
pray together and then she spends the weekend with me. At away games, we'll
pray together on the phone. It's a must. I have to do that before every game."
Q. Is there anything you like to do to relax away from the game and off
the court?
Dickson: "Just the usual. Watching television, hanging with teammates,
shopping, playing PSP."
Q. Have you given any thought to what you might want to do after basketball?
Dickson: "Perhaps getting into coaching. I'd also like to try sports
commentating and go into broadcasting. I haven't tried it yet. I've done interviews,
which is probably the closes, but I have never been on the other side."
