Powell: I am so excited. I think Dawn Staley is amazing. She is an amazing person as well. And with Andrea Stinson and the whole team, I’m really looking forward to it.

Q: What do you hope your legacy is going to be at Stanford?

Powell: It’s been a quick turnaround. I haven’t had a chance to really think about it. Really, I hope that people just got some enjoyment from watching me play and I hope they appreciated what I did out there on the floor and had fun. And that’s something that I hope I left at Stanford.

Q: You’re a West coast kid now going to Charlotte. How do you feel about that?

Powell: I’m really excited. I have never been to Charlotte but I hear it’s really nice and I’m looking forward to that.

Q: Were you shocked to go third?

Powell: I knew I had a chance to go there but heard some things leading up to today. The situation with the players at Charlotte is great and I can’t wait to get there.
