College Highlights
One of the nation’s top point guards, Gray – an All-American and two-time All-ACC First Team pick – had each of the past two seasons cut short by injuries. 2013-14: Fractured right kneecap in season’s 17th game vs. BC on Jan. 12. To that point, was averaging 10.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 spg and her 7.2 apg ranked 6th in Div. 1 and she was just 35 shy of becoming Duke’s all-time assist leader. 2012-13: As a junior, played in 25 games before suffering a dislocated kneecap vs. Wake Forest Feb. 17 but still was named Co-ACC Player of the Year, and an All-American (AP; WBCA). Was averaging 12.6 ppg, 5.4 apg, 5.3 rpg, 3.6 spg at time of injury. 2011-12: An All-American (USBWA) and one of four finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Award as nation’s top point guard. Led ACC in assists per game; had school-record 201 assists; notched triple-double vs. Pitt (14p, 13a, 11r.). MISC: Cousin, Alexis Gray-Lawson, played for Cal and was drafted by the WNBA’s Mystics.
