HOUSTON (Dec. 13, 2007) — The Houston Comets will move to a new home in Reliant Arena at Reliant Park beginning in 2008, team owner Hilton Koch announced today. The Comets will relocate to Reliant Arena from Toyota Center, which had been the team's home since 2004. The franchise played its first seven seasons (1997-2003) at Compaq Center.

"We are very excited that Reliant Arena will be the new home for Houston Comets basketball," said Koch. "As an organization, our goal is to provide Comets' fans with a phenomenal in-arena experience while at the same time maximizing the team's long-term growth potential. Reliant Arena's smaller venue will be a great setting for our boisterous fans and will help create a powerful home-court advantage for our team. I also would like to personally thank Leslie Alexander and the entire Houston Rockets organization for their unyielding support of Comets basketball, and their cooperation during this transition."

The Comets will play 17 regular-season games at Reliant Arena in 2008, beginning with a match-up against the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m. As part of opening night pre-game ceremonies, the Comets will raise all four of their WNBA Championship Banners (1997-2000) at Reliant Arena. The team also will introduce several Comets-centric elements within Reliant Arena, including the "Kim Perrot Memorial Locker Room," and the "Cooper's Corner VIP Entrance."

Comets season ticket holders were notified of the relocation prior to the public announcement and will receive comparable seat locations at Reliant Arena. The Comets will host a series of "Meet Your Seat" events at Reliant Arena beginning in mid-January to welcome season ticket holders to the team's new home. In addition, season ticket holders will receive numerous benefits at Reliant Arena, including:

• Priority access to playoff tickets
• Special VIP Credentials
  
• Access to a special season ticket-holder box office line
  
• Dedicated season ticket-holder arena entrance
