"It was a good way to start the season at home. We know we have to protect the home court this year with the parity. It is going to be tough on the road. It was a very good team effort. I thought VJ (Vickie Johnson) and Becky (Hammon) pushed the ball early, which helped us to get easy baskets. It was a good team win for us."
On his team's rebounding:
"This is the second team in a row we out-rebounded. That is mainly due to (Elena) Baranova and (DeTrina) White. White got 13 rebounds in 26 minutes our first game and she got seven tonight. Elena got seven and now 14."
On Crystal Robinson:
"I really think Crystal is one of the best defenders in the league. She had two of the best two players in the game the last two games. She had (Tamika) Catchings the other night and (Sheryl) Swoopes tonight and really played well."

"It was very important to come out here and get the win. It is a great way to start the season. We had a tough game against Indiana on Friday, however it was good for us to protect the home court and get the win."
On playing against Sheryl Swoopes:
"It felt great to be out there and play against her. It was kind of interesting nevertheless, a great experience. My teammates call me “Baby Swoopes” so it was good to finally go against her."

On the game:
"I helped our team down the stretch, it was me tonight but it will be someone else another night. We made some adjustments and the crowd was incredible tonight and we came to play. It was a lot of fun tonight for everyone, except for Houston."
On being a team leader:
"The point guard position takes a natural leadership role, so being a leader is something that I have to do everyday. We communicate well as a team and there are many leaders on this team. Things have changed around here, not for the better and not for the worse. Things are just different and as long as we play together we will win."
