Playing with Lavezzini Basket Parma in Italy, Snow is averaging 15.5 points and leads FIBA EuroLeague Women with 13.6 rebounds per game. The 2003 WNBA Most Improved Player of the Year recently scored 22 points in Lavezzini Parma’s 75-65 win over CaraChieti, but Snow’s most memorable two points came just before halftime when she dunked on a fast break.

In a January WNBA.com feature, Snow shared some of her New Year’s resolutions and goals, both personal and professional, for 2005. Coming in at #5 – “Dunk twice in one game.”

Could #5 resolution resonate in ‘05?

During her collegiate career at Tennessee, Snow recorded the first dunk by a woman captured on live television against Illinois on November 25, 2000. She became just the second women’s player to record two dunks in a college season, slamming home her second dunk against Vanderbilt on January 23, 2001. Her third dunk came on January 17, 2002, capping off the Lady Vols 80-61 victory over South Carolina with a clean, one-handed dunk with 1:51 left in the game.

In three seasons in the WNBA, Snow has averaged 7.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.27 blocks. She has started 67 of her 97 games played for the Comets and ranks fifth in team history in scoring average (7.4). Snow also stands second in Comets history in field goal percentage (.476, 275-578), fifth in total rebounds (621) and third in blocked shots (123). Selected by Houston in the first round (10th overall) of the 2002 WNBA Draft, Snow has recorded eight career double-doubles. Snow, who set two single-season franchise records with 62 blocked shots and 263 total rebounds in 2003, also holds the team single-game record in total rebounds (16 at Phoenix on May 24, 2003) and blocked shots (8 at San Antonio on June 20, 2003).

Los Angeles Sparks center Lisa Leslie stands as the lone member of the “WNBA Dunk Club,” becoming the first player to dunk in a WNBA game on July 30, 2002, against the Miami Sol. But from the looks of this offseason, better make room in the “WNBA Dunk Club” for Michelle Snow.
