Vonn Read
College - Clark Atlanta '97Vonn Read was added to the Miracle coaching staff in April of 2002. Read joins the Miracle coaching staff after spending two seasons as an advanced scout for the Orlando Magic basketball operations department. Read also served as an assistant coach, under Cheryl Miller, on the Phoenix Mercury staff during the 2000 WNBA season. Before coming to Phoenix, Read spent two years (1997-99) as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Spelman College (Atlanta, GA). At Spelman, Read was in charge of advanced opponent scouting as well as practice planning and recruiting. During this two years at Spelman, Read also worked for Turner Sports Broadcasting as senior archivist and production assistant for Turner’s NBA telecasts. He also worked the 1998 Goodwill Games in New York and the 1998 NBA Draft in Vancouver, British Columbia. Read graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science/pre-law in 1997 from Clark Atlanta University where he also played tennis. Read also served in the United States Army from 1989-93 at Fort Drum, New York and Fort Lee, Virginia. |
