Lisa Ciaravella

Lisa Ciaravella begins her eighth season as a strength and conditioning coach in the WNBA – her fifth with the Connecticut Sun – designing programs tailored for each player that help improve speed, agility, quickness and explosiveness.
She is also the owner and director of Phoenix Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, a Charlotte-based company specializing in the development of performance enhancement for elite high school, college and professional athletes.
Ciaravella has served as the strength and conditioning coach at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, working with legendary football coach Howard Schnellenberger and Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer Joan Joyce. Ciaravella has also worked with such notable athletes as NFL receiver Randy Moss and NBA forward Vince Carter, and she has extensive experience in athletic performance enhancement and sports medicine.
Prior to the Sun, she was the Head Strength Coach and Assistant Athletic Trainer of the WNBA’s Miami SOL (1999-03), and was also the Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Lynn University in Boca Raton (1998-00).
She was the Assistant General Manager/Human Performance Coach at Cris Carter’s FAST Program Training Center from 1997-00, served a Sports Medicine Assistantship at Nick Bollettieri Sports Academy in Bradenton, Fla. from 1995-97, and worked on the Elon College Sports Medicine Staff from 1994-98.
Ciaravella has a Masters of Sports and Athletic Administration from Lynn University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Elon College. She lives in Charlotte.
